Tafadzwa Mukaro

Background

Tafadzwa Mukaro is a gospel artist, who was born in Zimbabwe. Her music is original with a unique Afro-jazz genre and her songs are based on biblical scriptures. She expresses all her messages with a touching sincerity and simplicity that appeals to listeners of all ages. Tafadzwa Mukaro has a group called the Faith Movers. The group consists of 3 backing vocalists and 4 on instruments.

Tafadzwa Mukaro is employed in the financial sector. She is a trained teacher and is skilled in visual art. With these talents Tafadzwa is actively involved in teaching children in her community vocal singing skills and visual art.She is deeply passionate about nurturing young children on how to adopt high ethical African values at a tender age through her teaching of music and art. She also takes the opportunity to expose and communicate to children the need to adopt multi-skilling as is the evolving environment in the current 21st century. Tafadzwa's vision is to have a school of Arts.

Tafadzwa Mukaro was born and grew up at Old Mutare Mission,in Mutare.Tafadzwa is the last born in a family of seven. She attended primary school at Hartzel Primary School, before enrolling for secondary education at Hartzel High School.After completing secondary education, she enrolled at Africa University (AU) for her tertiary education.

Tafadzwa developed a passion for music while she was still at primary school. She started singing in the choir whilst in Grade 6 and also at secondary she joined the choir from form 1 to form 6. At Africa University, she started singing in her first year. In 2005, Tafadzwa was selected in the AU choir which toured 12 states in America in places such as California, Mexico, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.

Tafadzwa is married to Wisdom Mukaro who is also the artist's manager. They are blessed with two children.

Mwari Anesu

Tafadzwa Makaro released her First album called “Mwari Anesu” in 2014 - The album had 6 tracks namely Iniwo here, Mhinduro, Nhasi Uno, Ishe Gadzirai Rwendo and Tendeuka. - The album received fair airplay on all radio stations. - Mhinduro attained no 2 on the StarFM, Gospel Greats Final Top 50, despite being her First album on the music arena.

Tomurumbidza

She recorded her second album called “Tomurumbidza” with 6 Tracks in 2015. The songs are Mufaro WaJehovha, Munamato Unesimba, Nyika Nekuzara Kwayo, Ishe Ndouya and Zviriko. Tafadzwa Makaro has a group called Faith Movers. The group consists of three backing vocalist and 4 instrumenntalist. The album was recorded by the veteran producer Layton Nagolimi at Ly-ton studios.

Kupisirira Kunezuva

It talks about how you know God is about to do a miracle in your life, you can actually feel in the air or in your mind that something is about to happen.

NDASHANDA

It talks about how as people we have to work to earn a living and how God blesses the works of our hands.

Tibatei

The single is a prayer to God, pleading for his hand to be over us to protect us from road accidents.This song pleads for God to comfort us bereaved, keep, protect, heal and lead us all.The main theme in the song is it brings healing to the hearts from the loss of a dearly departed due to road accidents.

Vanondichengeta

It has been a wonderful journey of self discovery as an artist. I had the opportunity of working with different producers on the third album and I have learnt so much from each producer which enriches your singing, artistry and composing skills.

The title track Vanondichengeta is a collaboration with Bethen Pasinawako Ngolomi and Kudzi Nyakudya. It's a song that talks about how God is our protector and it doesn't matter if people look down upon you as ultimately God comforts you and magnies things you are good at. The general message carried in the album is of the unending love God gives even when things get hard like in Makata, which stresses the importance of prayer amid all of life’s adversities.
